Thank you so much for visiting the official website of Blue Sapphire Macrame! My name is Shannon and I am the owner and weaver/creator. This small business came to fruition in the heart of the Whiteaker district of Eugene, Oregon.

The name Blue Sapphire Macrame comes from my birth stone the blue sapphire of September. The sapphire gives me creative and artistic energy for all of my jewelry pieces. Because it’s a blue sapphire, its doesn’t necessarily mean I make just fine woven jewels in precious stones. September is an earth sign month which means I also make earthly natural woven pieces from all sort of minerals and stones from the earth. A mixture of beautiful pieces for beautiful different people!

Born in Cape Cod, I now reside in the Willamette Valley, where my ideas for micro macrame formed. Micro macrame became an art medium for me through weaving tapestries. Self taught in most mediums, I learned the art of micro macrame. Using sustainable organic linen thread and beads, embellishments, and stones from shops in the United States. I believe in supporting other small businesses in finding all the components of my jewelry.

Inspiration for my jewelry comes from Art Deco, Art Nouveau, royal jewels, costume jewelry from the 1920’s, and tribal belly dance jewelry. I’ve spent time as an ATS belly dancer in Colorado. I was apart of a troop in the San Juans called Caldera for 3 years. During my time as a belly dancer, I was completely enthralled by the work and beauty that came from all the costuming. Designing my own costumes for performances has always been with me and now I create jewels that compliments the dance form for which I still love. And for everyday casual wear too! Thank you again for taking the time to learn about my history. Any questions and comments, feel free to contact me anytime on the contact page of this site! I appreciate all of you, Stay Beautiful!
